Skin peel

Chemical peels can treat a wide variety of skin ailments (including acne) and skin complaints: superficial lines & wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation, rosacea, light stretch marks, dull complexion, uneven skin texture and many more.

Skin peels cause an exfoliating action by breaking up the bonds between skin cells which bind the dead skin cells to the surface. The peel solution induces exfoliation of the epidermis. This causes a mild sloughing (peeling) action leaving behind a smoother, softer skin. In addition, AHAs help to clean pores by killing bacteria causing acne, at the same time stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the epidermis and smoothing out imperfections in darker complexions.

Your skin will be cleansed professionally and a pre-peel will be used. The peel will be applied, then neutralised (if needed). Serums, moisturiser and SPF protection will be applied. You will be given aftercare recommendations to follow. The treatment usually takes 30 minutes.

Superficial chemical peels are likely to cause a tingling sensation in the skin after the peel has been performed but they are unlikely to cause pain. Medium depth peels are likely to make the skin slightly sore but this slight discomfort can be alleviated by a cool fan or compress to the area of skin.
